From the Editor…

Made to be broken

l ike rules, records are also made to be broken. And in this issue, we have owners who are aiming to do both. And we’re not just talking about a slight crack, or a mild bend here, we’re talking about smashing them to smithereens with a maniacal grin plastered across their faces. Take the Toyota Supra on the front cover, for example. Seen out on the street, only the oversized rear tyres would give away that this sleeping giant is packing over 2000bhp under the bonnet, but let loose on the standing mile and it’s got the ability to become the world’s fastest. That’s right, with cohones the size of bowling balls, Ali Alaride from Full Throttle Performance is planning to pilot this mean machine to a predicted 250mph…in one mile! It’s an insane achievement, especially for a car that can still be driven on the road. The prep has been done and, by the time you read this, we’ll know if it has achieved its destiny.

Another owner who is pushing the boundaries is Tom Keyworth, who is building what is likely to be the world’s wildest Nissan S15. Almost totally fabricated from tubular steel, it’s a work of art. We caught up with him to get the inside scoop on the build before it heads off to get cloaked in custom body panels, but to be honest, it almost doesn’t need it, as it looks incredible just as it is. Check it out for yourself on page 56, and try not to drool.

Elsewhere in this issue we have a Honda Logo that packs a punch, a bagged and wrapped Nissan 370Z and a wide arched Impreza that has learned the hard way that to get results you need to work from strong foundations. There’s also buying and tuning guides for Mitsubishi’s Evo VI, 10 minute turbocharger tech and 20 ways to save money on your insurance. Well, what are you waiting for? Until next month, and our 20th Anniversary issue, enjoy!
