From the Editor…

There’s nothing that pushes the tuning scene on more than inspiration. And while that can come in many forms from social media, YouTube videos and of course from reading your favourite magazine titles, there’s nothing that makes as lasting an impression as seeing a car in the metal. Being able to touch, hear and even smell the machine that is inspiring you, as well as inspect it from all angles and even perhaps interrogate the owner about the build process, can be an invaluable opportunity simply too good to miss. Which is a big part of the reason why car shows are so bloody fantastic. Not only do you get the chance to show off your own ride, socialise with old friends or meet new ones, but you get to benefit from the collective inspiration of hundreds of other likeminded individuals, too. Just admit it, who hasn’t attended a show and returned from it with at least one cool idea to try out on their own project build? So as a way of celebrating the fact that the show season proper is almost upon us, we’ve put together an essential guide to 19 of the top shows to visit in 2019.

From the abundance of shows on our own shores to ones further afield in the likes of Ireland, the Netherlands, the USA and even Australia, there’s a petrol-fuelled event out there for everyone. So what are you waiting for?

But that’s not all we’ve got in this power-packed issue, as we’ve also got a Supra and Skyline duo with a combined 1800bhp between them on page 32, and a wild, wide-arched Evo X packing 800bhp on page 24. And speaking of wide arches, we’ve managed to bag a behind the scenes peek into Liberty Walk bossman Wataru Kato’s personal ride – a Bososoku-styled Datsun 240Z, and took time out to marvel at a magnificent airslammed Subaru. And if that isn’t enough inspiration for you in one issue, we don’t know what is.
Enjoy!
